Loooong weekend, how I loved theeeee!!!!

Sooooo You know the Lazy Song By Bruno Mars!?  Yeah,  Well I adopted it has My Weekend Theme song. Instead of just one day, I made it 3!! 3 lovely days of no agenda, Just all about doing what I wanted and having fun, with my boys of course!! Just in case you haven't heard, here ya go!!!

Saturday Landon and I went to visit my mom, It was an unexpected visit and we got there just in time. She was on her way out, with a friend of hers,  to Go pick strawberry's. At first I didn't want to go I just figured that it would be waaaay to difficult to manage Landon, and I just wasn't up taming a wild monkey; But she talked me into and We had soooooooooooo much fun! I Myself have never been to a strawberry farm to pick my own strawberry's, I cant wait to do it again! Since I didn't know we were going, neither Landon or I were dressed to play in the mud. Lets just say the outfit that Landon had on, that he had never worn is completely ruined! If you have never been, I suggest going, go early during the day and don't wear good clothes!! Then It was on to a cook out at Burchettes house, where the boys had a pool an sprinkler party! Landon was not a very happy camper!  But we still had fun laughing and playing!

Sunday was another lazy day!! I did something I haven't done in a LLLLLLOOOOOONG time!!! I went shopping alone!!! I had a date with TJ Max, and we had soooo much fun! 2 hours of me time, un-rushed, It was Lovely!!  Sunday night we had a memorial day Cookout At my parents house, were all the sudden I found myself agreeing to Landon's head being buzzed WHAT!???  All of my pretty curls, all that thick blond hair! Gone!! He looks like a different little boy and soooo much more mischievous!! SOOO handsome!! Mommy Got a new look and so did Lil man!!!!

Monday It was back to my moms, for some Fun in the sun, in the Pool!!! We literally did nothing, but lay out by the pool, laughed with friends and family and ate TONS and TONS of Junk! It was a beautiful HOT day!! It seems that I was soooooo stinking lazy that I forgot to take pictures!! UH-OH

Hair Affair!!

 I Have NEVER been happy with My hair! Growing up I had LOOOOONG naturally curly, uncontrollable frizzy hair!! Yikes!!! I had no Idea how to manage it, before I knew hair products existed. I was helpless in the hair department!!!

Then along came Hair Gel (wooooohoooo) Then my Hair had a new meaning, long sleek wet looking curls the wetter it looked the better! Yeah Right!!  I did always get complements on it but, I wanted beautiful long straight hair, and I wanted it to be blond!!! In the 8th grade I got my wish, My mom let me highlight my hair! I remember how excited I was, I was finally going to be a blond. OMG my hair dresser had NO idea what she was doing!!! I was like.... white bleach blond, no highlights, I was blond, and I looked horrible. I was sooo embarrassed to go to school. Thank Goodness there were only 2 days of  left, till summer vacation!

The older I got the braver I got with my hair. I was always looking for a change. I wasn't in a committed relationship with my hair!  The next few major hair happenings, were in college. Once I went red! NOOOOO red is NOT a good color for me, It was awful  and made me looks washed out and sick. OOOOOHHH what a relief when it grew out. Next I let a dear sweet friend talk me into coloring my hair. whelp the color was suppose to be dark drown....... yeah it ended up black, jet black. Again it was AWFUL. I cried and cried!!

Since then I have had several hair changes, length color, you name it Ive tried it! I have mentioned before that my sister just recently started doing hair. I'm crazy excited, Ive always wanted a my own personal stylist and now I finally have one!!!! So This week, I let my sister talk me into another crazy hair Idea! My hair is now a very dark brown with blue peek a boos!! I cant tell you how nervous I was, But she did an AWESOME Job, Although the color is almost black, it looks great!!!  ( Ill share a picture as soon as I get a suitable one to share!! ( I'm super picky) I think this may be my favorite cut and color EVER!!!

Anyway change is always good! Makes life less boring!! So have you had any hair flops or regrets??! I hope you all have an amazing memorial day weekend!

Theses days every where you look, there is inspiration. Watching the news, I cant help but be thankful and inspired by the people who are able to pick up the pieces and move on after disaster. There has been  sooo much heart ache lately. Watching these poor ,helpless people loose everything that they have worked years for, just to loose it in one swoop of a nasty storm, to me is unimaginable.  How can we not be inspired??

 But I'm not going to go down that road today (even though I kinda already did) I going to  be a little more light hearted! I'm going to tell you a little bit about one of my new best Friend!!! Meet My Camera!

 Isn't she lovely!??  She has been sooo Good to me! She as became a huge inspiration and I try my best not to leave home with out her! I love  that she lets me capture memories that would more then likely be forgotten. I love that she sees things so clearly! I'm sooooo Thankful that she has that awesome  little delete button, because you  better believe that 95% of pictures of me go straight to that little trash can!! LOL!!! Ive still got soooo much more to learn about her, she has so many buttons, and I'm sad to say that her manual looks like a foreign language to me! But she Inspires me to learn and to capture beautiful memories that can never be forgotten!

8 Years!

I cant believe that, 8 years ago today,  Jon and I were preparing to become one. Mr and Mrs Jon Mitchell. I can remember almost every detail of that day, It was almost as if  I was  having an out of  body experience.It was all so surreal to me, I couldn't believe that one of the biggest days of my life was happening. I was getting Married!

Jon and I have been apart of each others lives for 17 years. We were so young when we met. God crossed our paths so early on, and lead us both in the direction to each other. We were 12 years old, so Young and still so naive. Jon insists that he knew the moment he saw me that I was going to be his forever!  I cant imagine my world with out him.  Hes everything That I could have ever dreamed of ! He passionate about his family, hes loyal and honest, hes smart and so talented, I get so jealous because almost everything he does hes good at, I have never seen him give up, and he rarely lets himself fail. I cant imagine a better roll model for our son.

I Love that man today more then I did the day we got married.God has given us the beautiful gift, of partnership, friendship and LOVE! What a fun journey we have been on, what an amazing journey we have ahead of us! <3

 Dear Landon,

The day you were born you put a whole new prescriptive on time, Minutes, Hours, weeks and months fly by faster then I could ever imagine! So many times I have wanted to hit pause or rewind just so I can relive moments! Do you mind slowing down a bit ,letting your dad and I catch our breath!

Sweet Boy, Today you turn 18 months old.  You Dad and I just look at you in amazement in how much you have changed in the last few weeks. You vocabulary has exploded, and you are sooo observant. Your dad and I have realized that we have to watch what we are doing, because your little eyes don't miss a thing!! Its exciting to see your personality is forming. Your love people so much, You have started hugging and kissing everyone who's is important to you! My Favorite thing that you are doing right is the way you wake me up in the Morin! You tap me and say mamma, mamma and give me a huge sloppy kiss! There in no other way Id rather wake up , our mornings are priceless!

 You poor thing, just like your daddy, you have awful allergies, You sneeze and cough and your poor nose is always stopped up or runny. Its sooo hard to keep you face clean, You HATE having it wiped. This weekend you discovered your nose and that you can pick it!!! OHHHH NO. You tried being sneaky with me and have given me your surprises!  OOOOOH No Your momma doesn't do well with boogies!!! Your sooo silly and thoughtful!!!

You have became quite the dancer, you LOVE to shake your booty! Its became our nightly ritual. We dance to the Fresh Beat Band (neither your Dad or I are a fan) the Mickey Mouse Club House or we dance to the radio!!! Sooo Much Fun!  Landon you are such a sweet Fun and loving little guy, Your changing so fast its amazing, it only seems like yesterday I was holding you in my arms, dreaming of how you were going to be. I love watching you transform into a little man! Our Summer adventures have only just begun!!! I Love you sooo much! <3

IDIOSYNCRASY

I-D-I-O-S-Y-N-C-R-A-S-Y     Idiosyncrasy! I feel so smart spelling that! Truth is I had to look at Shayln's blog like 10 times to make sure I got it right!!! Whoa its a big word!!!

 Definition please!!!

Idiosyncrasy-from Ancient Greek ἰδιοσυγκρασία, idiosynkrasía, "a peculiar temperament", "habit of body" is defined as an individualizing quality or characteristic of a person or group, and is often used to express eccentricity or peculiarity.

In other words its a fancy word for weird!!! So today I'm linking up with sweet Shayln @ Laugh Until your cheeks hurt! to let you in on my world of weird!!!

1. Touching a cotton ball makes me tense up , I cant stand the way it feels!!! Want to freak me out, just come at me with a cotton ball!!! 

2. I read magazines from back to front!!! HEHE! well really I just look at the pictures see what interests me and go back and read it later!

3. I hate having long finger nails, I'm not really sure why, but I do! 

4. I CAN NOT drive slow, my brain just wont let me, there is something about being in a car, that makes me think that  I have to be there 5 mins ago!! I don't have time for the speed limit!!!

5. I drive with one leg propped up in my seat!! Its became a habit!! 

6. My shocks NEVER match what I'm wearing and I'm lucky if I have 2 of a kind on!! 

7. I don't like melon of any kind, Blah!! Ive been told I'm not a true southerner because of it!! I just cant eat it!!!

8. I LOOOOOVEEEEEE The Real House Wives!!!! Orange, New york, Atlanta, New Jersey!! Hehe!!! I get my drama fix!!!

9. I have a thousand empty picture frames with no pictures in them!!!! I have intentions on putting sweet baby pictures in them!

10. I LOVE to drink Milk out of a Frosty mug!!! hehe!!

11.  I cant whistle or snap my fingers!! Sad I know!!!!

Dear Landon,

Today's Letter to Landon is brought to you by none other then My beautiful real life best friend Christina @ My Silly Life! Shes pretty awesome! I cant tell you how much this letter means to me! Thank you C for such a beautiful memory and for being a part of our lives! We Love you!

Man, starting this letter is much harder than I imagined it would be.  27 months ago things were much different.  That was before you were here though… and thinking back to those times it is almost hard to remember.  I do remember the day your mom asked me to bring her a pregnancy test.  I am a little bit crazy so I picked up like 10 from the Dollar Store.  Yes, it only takes one to know… but you have to be sure!  I was SO excited to find out your mom was pregnant.  

I probably started screaming talking to you that day!  It was so much fun talking about you, buying clothes for you, pretending you were here with this little blue teddy bear that I swaddled and put in your car seat… yes, I told you I was crazy!  I also named you… see I thought you were a girl.  I thought Molly Mitchell was the sweetest little name.  So, until we found out otherwise, I called you Molly!  

I think while your mom was pregnant with you it was incredibly special for me because I was never able to get pregnant.  Anthony and I had tried, but it just never happened… and your mom and I were so close that I was able to experience pregnancy with her.  What a special gift I was given because of you.  By the time you entered this world, I just adored you and I knew we had a special bond.  I am not sure you felt the same way after all the yelling… but I had to be sure you could hear me though all that amniotic fluid stuff:)

And, for the last 18 months I have gotten to see the wild little baby you are and grow to love you even more.  From the beginning I think you have just wanted to walk and do for yourself!  You have been such an overachiever trying to do things fast and early!  You were so very patient with me for the first five months of your life.  You see I experimented and played with you.  I even watched you over night one night and you slept on my chest while I laid there scared to death making sure you were breathing every second.  You also peed all over me that night while I changed your diaper!  Your mommy and daddy were so tired they did not even hear me yell… haha!  Ohhh, and dressing you up was the best!!  

When you were five months old Malachi was born.  You probably breathed a sigh of relief because I would no longer torture you!  What I love though is that you and Malachi are growing up together just like your mom and me did.  You guys are just starting out even earlier than we did!  I pray that you guys are always friends.  Life takes so many twist and turns, and relationships are hard to navigate… but friends you can talk to and relate to on a heart level are few and far between… so I want you guys to stick together and be true friends!

So, here are some things I want you to know… Landon, you are LOVED.  You have what it takes!  Be passionate, be strong, be loving, be forgiving… and know that you have an AMAZING God who can do anything.   I know it sounds cheesy… but it is SO TRUE!

Baby FEVER!

You know!! I have had baby fever pretty much since Landon was 2 months old. When I realized  how fast he was growing and that he wasn't  going to be small for that much longer, it broke my heart! I by no means had the perfect pregnancy or labor, but After it was over I told Jon, that I was either meant to have 60 babies or I was meant to be a labor and delivery nurse. I loved the feeling and emotions and the excitement of the labor room, I was so sad when it was over, I wanted to do it again!!!

Jon and I have been talking about baby #2 for awhile now, Talking about it everyday for the last few months. I'm not getting any younger and time is flying by. We are ready!!!! SO whats the hold up?? ME. I'm Just so nervous.WHY??? Financially we will never be perfectly prepared I know that.  I talk about how much I love Landon and how I was meant to be his mom,and how much I enjoy being a mom,  but I'm scared for # 2 AWWWWWW!!!!! There is a tiny part of me that wants Landon to be the only child, I want to spoil him rotten, I don't want him to have to share the attention he gets or the love. Does any of this even make since?? But the larger part of me is desperate for baby #2, I just cant figure out what's holding me back!! I know I sound crazy and silly and like always I have contradicted myself . Maybe I'm over thinking things which I always tend to do. Landon needs to be a big brother. For now Ill just continue to pray, after all its Gods plan, not mine!

Ready For Random??

Sooo I haven't written a random post in a while so here ya go!!!

Monday I left work early, because I felt so awful. I really think I was  exhausted, I slept from 1-5 and went to bed early! I manged an early bed time Thursday night as well, which was a good thing since blogger went all crazy on us!I should be all caught up on sleep!! NAAH!!!

Mothers day was great, I love that their is a holiday just for me, It made me feel special!! I asked my husband to get me Crest white strips for my gift! I have been using them for a week now, I really think they are working, or it may be in my head!!! Have any of you ever used them?? how did they work?

Landon's eczema is under control Thank goodness, some of it is drying up. I have actually had complete strangers ask me whats on/wrong with his legs, It kinda hurts your feeling a little bit, I feel bad enough it is!!!!

We are teething , not sure which ones but  he has a mouth full!!!

That little stinker is refusing most foods these days. I cant get a veggie in him to save my life. The only thing he will eat consistently is cheese!!!!! I'm not sure what I should do?? Any advice?

I am in home makeover mode!! Jon is probably going to kill me, but I want to repaint the kitchen and our bed room. Its just finding the time to do it! We are just so busy during the summer!! I want to paint My kitchen Yellow and I'm clueless about the bedroom!!! I just want my house to be light an airy!!!

I'm sooo happy and proud to announce that we have paid off 2 Major bills within the last few months, which puts me a few steps closer to My stay at home mom dream!!! WOoooHHOOO!!!!!!

Work is getting a tiny winney bit better, Im sure things will be shaken up soon, we get thrown new things daily! Grin an bare it Heather!!!

I'm soooo addicted to Pinterest, I think its going t cause me to spend a ton of money!!! Sooo much inspiration!

This weekend has been pretty great!!!

Family Beach vacation in 21 more days!!!

5 Mins For Mom

Domestic Goddess I am NOT, but Im working on it!!

Domestic Goddess I am not! Although I try, but probably not hard enough. Ive been working on it for almost 9 years, and I'm only 25% there on a good day!!!

You see I envision my life as a 50's sitcom, I wanna be June Cleaver. I know, I'm probably making you guys want to vomit as I write this, But I really do. I would love to be able to wake up every morning happy as I can be!! Make up my bed and fix the hubby Breakfast, and kiss him as he walks out the door!!! ( I totally do that anyway)  I would Love to be caught up on laundry, and to be able to do the  the grocery shopping during the day would be great, have a freshly vacuumed house, and dinner waiting on the hubby when he walks in the door, with a homemade dessert!!!! Yeah RIGHT, I know that's wishful thinking, but if I could be half of all of that it would be great!!!!

Unfortunately being a working mom, I'm lucky if I remember to brush my teeth in the morning and fix my hair. sometimes things can get a bit hectic!!

This weekend I think I may have uped my domestic Goddess status just a a smidge!!!!  I made a pound cake from scratch!!!!! OHHHH YEAH!!!!!!  So I'm going to get a little braggy for just a minute!!!!! Anyone who has ever mad a pound cake knows that there is a ton of work involved, mix, add, stir, mix add, stir and it has to be in order! I was sooo nervous. I just knew that it was going to be disastrous!!!! But Guess what!!! It wasn't, it turned out great, It looked like pound cake and tasted  like pound cake!! I cant tell you how proud of myself I was!!! GO ME, GO ME!!!!! So I think that I just upped my domestic Goddess status to 27% !!! HEHE!!! Now I'm thinking that I'm entitled to a brand new Green kitchen Aid mixer, don't you!??? Can you  tell my husband Please!!!!! I just know that If had one of those bad boys sitting on my counter, I would be whipping up cakes like crazy!!!

Here's the recipe I used, it was really really tasty! I did some research on how to make a good pound cake and several recipe's said that the key to a good one is to make sure that you use all the ingredients at room temperature!! One even said to leave them about as many as 8 hours! Recipe is from Food Network.

Ingredients

• 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, plus more for pan
• 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
• 3 cups sugar
• 5 eggs
• 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for pan
• 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 cup milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

With a mixer, cream butter and shortening together. Add sugar, a little at a time. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Stir dry ingredients together in a bowl and add to mixer alternately with milk, starting with the flour and ending with the flour. Mix in vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan and bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

It was super Yumm, I have less then  half left!!!! I hope your all having a great week!!! Wednesday is just around the corner!!! <3

  Nothing In this world could have prepared me for Being a Mom! The roller coaster of emotion, the late nights, a million poop diapers, unending drool, heart ache and  fear,  Lots of smiles and giggles. But most of all the LOVE , the over flowing feeling, is un-describable. It leaves you speechless as you look at your child and thank God for giving you the opportunity to be a MOM, there's no better feeling!

Fill in the blank Friday!

Hey Yall!!! Friday is finally here, one of my favorite days!! Guess what????? We are all sick AGAIN! Dad, mom and baby!!! We have been germ free for a total of 3 weeks and BOOM, it hits us all at the same time!! STUPID COLD, Oh well we will all push through together!!  Poor Landon's eczema in kicking in full force, I feel so bad for him. He scratches and scratches, and it doesn't look so pretty either! His pediatrician has called him in some cream for it, I pray it gives him a bit of relief! 

Busy, busy weekend ahead of us!!! How about you!?

1.   What I love most about my home is      That its mine!!! When we first moved in there was so much to be changed, it was someone else's home and taste. It took me forever to make that house feel like my home!!! But it does now!!! My Favorite Room is my Bathroom, its newly renovated, its my little spa!!!

2.  I'm excited because,   This is my 2ND mothers day! I love that!! I have had several people wish me a happy mothers day today, I'm like yeah, I'm a mom,  I'm still getting use to that!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE  it!!

3.  My preferred method for blowing  off steam when I'm frustrated is     Talk about it I guess, and talk about it till I'm over it!! LOL!! So be prepared to talk forever. although I'm getting sooo much better at picking my battles!!!

4.  Currently I am craving  Buffalo Chicken dip!!!! YUMMMMMM Have you tired it!!?? If not let me know, ill  get you the recipe ASAP cause its soooo yumm!!!!

5.  The thing I love most about my mom is   Her Heart and her love for us, She loves us so much and wants the best for my sister and I. I know this sounds clique, but she would fight for us till she couldn't any more. She been through a lot and came back from a lot! She is so strong because of it!

6.  If I was going to write a book about my life, the title would be       About navigating, navigating my world as a wife, mother and my spiritual journey!

7.  If I were to eat one thing for the rest of eternity it would be       I going to say pizza! Because you can change it up sooo much, plus it has pretty much all the major food groups!!! YUMMMMM Maybe a veggie pizza for dinner tonight!!!

• I love when you reach to hold  my hand!
• I Love When you smile your dimples melt my heart!
• I love it when you laugh uncontrollably, your giggle is contagious!
• I love to hear you try and scold the dogs!
• I love how you have NO FEAR!  Catching you in the middle of the Kitchen Table!
• I Love when you open the fridge to get your own cheese( you think your so big)
• I Love how you call all of your food crackers! We are working on that!

You weigh 25 pounds and are 34 inches tall!!! You look so much older then 17 months , you have the sweetest most handsome face!! You were 18 month shirts and pants, and a size 5 diaper!

Your vocabulary is growing so fast, you  can now say Ball, cracker, Dad, Mom, Juice, cheese, car, bye, hey, mickey, cat, dog, Jd, Max, outside, Yes, Tad-aha, shoes, cookie, No, oh no, oh man, oh my, milk, cow chicken, monkey, sit, banana , Yummmm, and you try and count to 3 but it sounds something like this umm,ooou, eeeee.

Food you Love: Strawberry's, bananas, sweet potatoes, Mac and cheese, Cheese, Spaghetti, plain pasta, pinto beans, waffles, chicken nuggets, tuna, eggs, rice,

Food you hate: carrots, mashed potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, any thing spicy,
